Overview: Monticello Central School District is seeking Sub Custodial Workers DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Employees in this class perform manual duties involved in building cleaning and the operation of cleaning equipment. The work involves the thorough execution of tasks which follow a well established routine under general supervision. TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: Sweeps, mops, washes floors and hallways, cleans windows; Dusts furniture and window sills; Cleans restrooms, showers, locker rooms and replenishes supplies; Strips and waxes floors; Vacuum and shampoos rugs; Assists with groundskeeping activities, such as mowing and snow removal; Changes oxygen tanks and removes HVAC units; Performs minor maintenance activities such as repairs to locks, replaces light bulbs, minor painting; Clean cafeterias, lunch, dining and isolation rooms; Washes walls, lockers, doors and showcases; Collects and disposes of trash (including infectious waste); Unloads and stores supplies, moves furniture and equipment; Makes minor repairs to furniture and fixtures, helps with more difficult repair work; Performs other assigned tasksWorking knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; ability to read and write; thoroughness; and cleanliness. Overview: Monticello Central School District is seeking Teacher Aides DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This position involves the performance of classroom duties to assist a teacher in accomplishing classroom objectives as well as performing other duties, which while related to the teaching process, can be performed by non-professional personnel. The class of Teacher Aide differs from that of School Monitor in that the Teacher Aide generally assists teachers in a classroom setting while the School Monitor generally functions outside the classroom maintaining order. Work is performed under the direct supervision of a Teacher or Teacher Assistant.TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: The typical work activities listed below, while providing representative examples of the variety of work assignments in the title, do not describe any individual position. Incumbents in this title may perform some or all of the following, as well as other related activities not described.
