PROJECT MANAGER - NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT About the Role: This position will work closely with the New Product engineers & communicate daily to supply chain to obtain material as quickly as possible to reduce the timelines for start dates for all new projects. All data must be collected from the project engineer, then entered the ERP system and follow up with internal stakeholders. Establish relationships with engineers, purchasing and New Product managers to increase communication to integrate the NPD process with the NPI process as needed. Review data & track success of New Products to prepare for possible long-term integration. What You Will Do:
  • Review open work orders to determine customer requirements
  • Identify work order completion date with engineering based on material availability
  • Manage delivery of parts to expedite flow of material to meet production schedule support purchasing
  • Review raw material availability in the ERP system to ensure manufacturing work orders are fulfilled on time.
  • Release manufacturing work orders to the warehouse for kit picking and coordinate between stockroom, engineering and purchasing on material shortage.
  • Run PLM software to analyze availability of raw materials
  • Notify Sales/Engineering of any schedule impacts to customers
  • Completes status reports, such as production progress, customer updates and material inventory
  • Monitor material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage
What You Will Need:
  • Degree in science, engineering, or other analytical field
  • 1-3 years managing projects
  • 2-5 years in electrical engineering or manufacturing engineering fields
  • Customer service experience
  • Intermediate skills in Excel (Xlookup, Pivot Tables, nested functions, etc)
  • Verbal & written communication skills
  • Experience reviewing inventory
  • Multi-tasking across multiple physical locations, time zones & countries
Preferred Characteristics:
  • Planning/Scheduling experience
  • Previous history with Glovia or similar ERP system
  • Experience working with PLM software
  • Experience creating work orders & allocations
This position offers a hybrid work model, blending remote flexibility with 3 required in-office days for optimal collaboration and productivity at Spellman High Voltage headquarters in Hauppauge, NY after 12 weeks of in person training. Occasional travel may be required to Brownsville, TX and Matamoros, MX (less than 10%). Our good faith estimates of the salary range for this role is $80,000 to $90,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors. In addition to base pay, we offer a highly competitive benefits package. Spellman takes safety seriously.
