All teachers report to work throughout our various locations in Pennsylvania.Click here for additional information about our school.Job Purpose:The Procurement Specialist works closely with the Manager of Business Operations and Federal Programs team to research vendors, services, and goods; facilitate procurement process of purchases; assist with planning for purchasing of materials and services; organize procurement documentation gathered during vetting process; liaise between school departments and vendors; and provide reports to the LEA as well as state and federal authorizers as needed. The Procurement Specialist will ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations regarding use of federal and non-federal funds. The Procurement Specialist will maintain detailed and accurate records and documentation.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Initiate appropriate procurement processes (sole sourcing situations, competitive sealed bids, requests for proposals, requests for quotations etc.) based on the purchasing's requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and documentation on all solicitations, responses, purchases, contracts, correspondence and related follow-up.
  • Engage in procurement planning alongside departments and facilitate procurement activities with department expertise.
  • Analyze current procurement activities and recommend improvements through more efficient procurement procedures.
  • Research and compare vendor products and services, contract terms and conditions to ensure most cost effective and competitive pricing.
  • Create approved vendor lists for frequently used products and services.
  • Confirm good financial standing of vendors with regular and frequent SAM.gov checks.
  • Proactively notify and include Minority and Women Owned businesses for open procurement requests.
  • Assist Manager of Business Operations with ensuring school policies, purchase processes and contracts are compliant with all local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned by the business office.

Experience and Additional Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, including but not limited to: purchasing, procurement, regulatory compliance or business operations. It is preferred that the required experience be within a K-12 school environment in Pennsylvania.
  • Minimum of a 2-year business degree.
