Komatsu supports a myriad of markets, including housing, infrastructure, water, pipeline, minerals, automobile, aerospace, electronics and medical, through its many brands and subsidiaries, including TimberPro, Joy, P&H, Montabert, Modular Mining Systems, Hensley Industries, NTC, and Gigaphoton.Job OverviewKomatsu is currently searching for Machinist for our Longview, TX. facility.Key Job Responsibilities• Works safe and is an advocate for safety.• Reliably produce parts within tolerance levels per print specifications within capabilities of given machines with minimum supervision, minimal scrap, and within standard routing hours.• Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and determines sequence of operations.• Set-up CNC machine and debug CNC programs, as well as manual machines, for producing close tolerance parts while doing own set-up and layout work• Minimal debugging of CNC programsQualifications/Requirements• 1-3 years in a machine shop environment.• Able to write simple shop floor programs• Must be willing to work 2nd shift• Must be willing to work overtime and weekends, as requested• Proficient in basic mechanical skills• Blue print reading skills• Read a tape measure, micrometer, and calipers• Ability to write simple correspondence and accurately perform data entry/documentation• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals• Knowledge/understanding of tooling terminology/nomenclature• Knowledge of standard functions of horizontal/vertical mills and/or lathesAdditional InformationKomatsu is an Equal Opportunity Workplace and an Affirmative Action Employer.
