About Your Role: As a Support Specialist, you will be responsible for working with both children and adults on acquiring, developing, and increasing social engagement and independent living skills, and increased interaction in the community and home settings. This position works to reduce problem behaviors that impede functioning.Serving the following areas:

Does the following apply to you? - High School diploma or equivalent
- Must complete all required trainings developed by the Bureau of Autism Services for individuals with an autism spectrum disorder (AAW); must complete all required trainings developed by the Intellectual Disabilities Department, specifically pre/in-service training based on consumer's Individual Support Plan (IDD)
- Must be willing and able to transport consumers in your own vehicle.
Preferred education and experience:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling, Criminology, Education, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or other related field is preferred
Additional Requirements/Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid driver's license for the purpose of transporting consumers (AERI programs only)
- Must possess proof of automobile insurance
- Must be proficient in use of electronic health record system
- Must be able to make sound decisions to support consumers in a calm and timely manner; must be able to utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities based upon consumer needs, and react quickly to prevent consumer injury or injury to another due to consumer behavior
