SCHEDULE Per-Diem Overnight availability required SUMMARY Family Service League is seeking an Overnight per-diem Registered Nurse (RN) for the DASH (Diagnostic, Assessment, and Stabilization Hub) Crisis Center in Hauppauge. The DASH Crisis Center is a 24 hour per day, 7 day per week outpatient crisis stabilization program that includes a 24-hour crisis hotline and mobile response team. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing health assessments, health education, diagnostic testing, and medication administration. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Registered Nurse will provide nursing intervention including supportive and/or restorative care.
  • Function as a member of an interdisciplinary team
  • Act as a team lead and be responsible for maintaining any inventory standards for medicine.
  • Ensure the health and safety of staff and clients during emergencies.
  • Health monitoring and education/counseling
  • Conduct urine toxicology screenings.
  • Administration and monitoring of oral medications and intramuscular injections.
  • Completion of all clinical documentation in an electronic medical record in accordance with NYS Office of Mental Health regulations.
  • The Registered Nurse will maintain infection control standards.
  • Attendance at routine supervision/team meeting.
  • The Registered Nurse will complete training and maintain proficiency in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
  • Understand and demonstrate a commitment to Performance Quality (PQI)
  • Abide by FSL's Code of Ethics.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with others both internally and externally to achieve goals of the organization.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Foster teamwork, work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems and make decisions.
  • Assess situations to determine importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization.
  • Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information and activities.
  • All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS Associate's Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Licensed and registered to practice nursing in the state of New York required. Opioid Overdose Trainer to administer and provide Narcan. Minimum of 1 year of experience in an acute care, psychiatric setting, including experience with co-occurring disorders and/or chemical dependency required. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required. Ability to problem solve, make clear decisions, and work as part of a team required. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office required; experience with Electronic Health Records preferred. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Overnight availability required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS General computing skills. Ability to stand or sit for a long period of time.
