OLV Human Services is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in the Developmental Disabilites divison. The LPN will be responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care along side our RN's to our residents with developmental disabilites in a residential setting.

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse is an integral part of the treatment team who provides health care services under their Scope of Practice for individuals with developmental disabilites; ensuring with the support of the Registered Nurse that all overall health and safety needs are met.
Essential Job Duties:
Perform case finding, health teaching, health counseling.
Provide supportive and restorative care.
Administering medication to individuals per MD order and monitoring the response of the individual to the medication.
Taking and recording the individuals vital signs such as: blood pressure, temperature, weight, height and prescriptions.
Obtain lab samples from individuals as per policy.
Inventories and orders medications as appropriate from pharmacy as per policy.
Document as per policy in individual charts.
Make clients observations and report directly to the Registered Nurse.
Perform any other duties listed on the daily/weekly/monthly/semi-annually/annually site specific responsibility checklist.

Education: Minimum Degree Required: Associates Degree

Required License/Registration/ Certification:
NYS LPN Licensure
Valid NYS Drivers License

Schedule: MTWThF 8a-4p
Employment Status: Full Time
Hourly pay rate is based on relevant years of licensed experience
Physical Requirements:
Strength: Sufficient to assist with lifting and transferring a patient, and perform CPR.
Mobility: Sufficient mobility to bend, stoop, and bend down to the floor; ability to move around rapidly; and to move in small, confined areas.
Hearing: Sufficient to hear through the stethoscope to discriminate sounds; to hear cries for help; to hear alarms on equipment and emergency signals; and various overhead pages.
Vision: Sufficient to make physical assessments of patients and equipment.
Communication: Able to communicate in both verbal and written formats; and interact with clients, staff, and faculty supervisors.
