SUMMARY: Under basic supervision, performs various functions in support of the City's electrical and natural gas distribution systems including the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and replacement of distribution system equipment, and response to electric and natural gas emergencies. Performs related duties, as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines:
High School diploma OR GED equivalent AND two years of experience in electrical distribution system operation, natural gas distribution system operation, OR a combination of the two.
License and Certification Requirements:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in an office and primarily in a field environment. May have exposure to dangerous machinery, equipment, extreme weather conditions, gaseous environments, electric hazards, and hazardous chemicals. May be required to perform frequent pushing, pulling, twisting, leaning and sideways motions. May be required to work within confined spaces, vaults, and trenches. May be required to climb ladders. May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds. Must be able to hear in the normal range, with or without correction, and stamina to work long hours and overtime if assigned. Must be able to work an irregular schedule, which may include weekends, holidays, evenings, and/or varying shifts. Individual will be required to arrive on-site to on-call emergencies in accordance with the department standby policy.
