An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Program, Procurement to join our client's team!Reporting to the VP Procurement for New England & New York, you will be responsible for developing and executing the commercial and procurement strategies for the New England and New York BU, specifically the New York Electric programs. You will have 3 direct reports and 7 indirect reports. This role can be based in either their Brooklyn or Waltham office.Our client is leading the charge towards a Net Zero future in the UK and NE of the USA. They recognize that decarbonizing their electric and gas systems will require resolving many questions and seeking new partnerships, technologies, and transformative investments. Over the next 5 years, they will be investing over 60bn across their UK and US businesses—nearly double the investment over the past 5 years.This is an exciting time for the industry, creating significant opportunities for our client. This is not just a moment in time; it's a game-changing era that will shape their success for decades to come. Given this backdrop, their supply chains are facing unprecedented challenges and are at the forefront of their plans, placing Procurement at the center of their Net Zero goals. They have set out an ambitious transformation plan, focused on becoming a client of choice for their supply partners while ensuring outstanding outcomes for their Business Units. Their strategy revolves around significant changes in three core areas:Partnering: Forging closer ties with their supply chain, aligning more closely with each Business Unit.Scale: Leveraging the immense scale of their group to unlock even greater potential.Operational Transformation: Revolutionizing the way they work as a team, embracing new approaches and technologies to streamline processes and make day-to-day tasks simpler and more efficient.What You'll DoResponsibilities include coordinating across the relevant Procurement teams, including category managers, supply chain risk teams, strategic supplier leads, and market supplier development, to ensure they can provide key stakeholder business units with updates, insights, and recommendations as required.Define overall program/project delivery model, including commercial construct and go-to-market approach.Collaborate with relevant business partners or directly with stakeholder counterparts to understand the workbook, identify the scope of support required, and frontload preparation.Provide relevant inputs into program/project sanctioning with internal and external stakeholders.Lead end-to-end co-development of BU/function supply chain plan and their delivery, including tracking progress.Co-define sourcing strategy with relevant category leads and, where necessary, provide input to vendor selection and contracting.Drive successful program/project execution, including supplier coordination and claims management.Ensure procurement activities are executed within the allocated budget, maintaining clear financial oversight.Proactively assess and mitigate procurement-related risks (e.g., supply chain risks, cost escalations, project delivery risks) and regularly communicate to relevant stakeholders.Maintain close working relationships with category leads and business partners, fostering a “one team” mentality in approach to large programs/projects.Lead Strategic Supplier Engagement for BU/function-specific suppliers with support from Supplier Engagement.Lead a highly motivated, innovative, and value-focused team, developing talent and a performance management culture that drives value through employee engagement, successfully meeting or exceeding all strategic objectives for the area.RequirementsWork closely with Leadership to set the direction of the Procurement 1-3 year strategy and annual operating plans.Translate big picture ideas into concrete goals, providing teams with a clear and simple roadmap to success.Lead the implementation of significant process improvement and standardization initiatives to drive cost savings within procurement by challenging existing ways of working.Actively engage all stakeholders and continuously seek ways to do things better to drive greater efficiencies.Support low-cost country supplier opportunities to drive standardization, process improvement, and improved technical capability across global commodity spend categories.Compensation: $168k-198kBenefits: health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and more!Pay Details: $180,000.00 to $212,000.00 per yearSearch managed by: Caroline Martinez Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabledTo read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable:The California Fair Chance ActLos Angeles City Fair Chance OrdinanceLos Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for EmployersSan Francisco Fair Chance OrdinancePermanentManagement - General
