Job Summary:

SLPs provide direct treatment of speech/language intervention services to students throughout all 3 programs, ages 3-21. Students receive individual or small group therapy in either a pull-out or collaborative/classroom setting. SLPs demonstrate competency in understanding visual and multiple disabilities, working effectively in a team, adapting therapy materials and employing a variety of techniques to provide optimum support to each student. They relate well to students, use consistent, proactive behavior management, tailoring instruction for student success and independence, while creating a safe and orderly learning environment

Responsibilities:

• Structures intervention to meet goals and objectives on students IEP
• Organizes and keeps records related to student attendance, student progress, and Medicaid/IDEA mandated documentation
• Works individual or in small groups with focus on integrating all therapy into classroom settings and with other related service providers
• Promotes high levels of success and independence or functional communication as appropriate to student level
• Performs evaluations (initial, annual, triennial) and makes recommendations for goals and mandates as appropriate, attending IEP meetings as warranted
• Performs annual hearing screenings on students and makes referrals to parents as appropriate
