We are currently seeking a dedicated Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator to join our growing team and support our North America Region at our client site in Mountain View, CA.Position: Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) CoordinatorLocation: Mountain View, CA (Client Site Based)Reports to: GCA Program DirectorSalary: Starting at $79,040, plus benefitsRole Overview:The Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting and implementing Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, programs, and best practices across our client's locations globally. This role will involve collaborating with various stakeholders to create and maintain a safe work environment. The ideal candidate will have a background in EHS management, knowledge of federal and state regulations, and a passion for promoting safety in the workplace.Key Responsibilities:
  • Compliance & Regulatory Knowledge: Maintain an in-depth understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, including OSHA, DOT, and EPA standards.
  • Program Management: Assist in organizing, monitoring, and reporting on programs such as the Emergency Response Program, Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), Risk Assessments, Global Regulatory Compliance, and the Environmental Management System.
  • EHS Program Development: Assist in creating written EHS programs, tools, and materials to ensure compliance and safety standards.
  • Emergency Response Team (ERT): Serve as an active member of the on-site ERT; prepare and track ERT membership, training, meetings, and supplies for all locations.
  • Training & Safety Drills: Train and assist external partners, ERT members, and the Safety Committee; plan and lead drills and training to improve the emergency response.
  • Incident Management: Assist in accident and incident investigations, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Ergonomic & Remote Workforce Safety: Support ergonomic initiatives and safety programs for remote workers.
  • Workers' Compensation: Coordinate with Human Resources on the management of workers' compensation cases.
  • Hazard Assessment: Identify and monitor workplace hazards (chemical, physical, biological) and work closely with personnel to implement safety improvements.
  • Audits & Compliance: Conduct regular audits and job hazard analyses to identify risks, prevent injuries, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Environmental Reporting: Support environmental activities such as hazardous material/waste permits, fire inspections, and environmental reporting systems.
  • EHS Training & Education: Manage and assist with the development and delivery of EHS-related training programs for employees.
  • Regulatory Agency Liaison: Maintain positive relationships with EHS regulatory agencies, manage permits, inspections, and incident reports.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with departments like Facilities and Human Resources to enhance site safety initiatives.
  • Corporate Initiatives: Support corporate EHS metrics reporting, audits, and other company-wide safety initiatives.
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Regulatory Tracking: Stay informed of regulatory changes and best practices related to EHS, providing recommendations as necessary.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements to reduce hazard potential and enhance workplace safety.
Qualifications:
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related scientific or engineering field, or equivalent experience in an environmental health and safety program.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • 3-5 years of dedicated EHS experience, or an entry-level degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology with a focus on EHS.
    • Experience in Emergency Response and IIPP.
    • Experience in a global environment is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and other computer applications.
    • Excellent report writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong analytical and research skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and adapt work schedules as needed.
    • Experience coordinating with regulatory agencies and working in high-pressure situations.
Salary & Benefits:
  • Salary: Starting at $79,040 annually.
