Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paint Automation Technician to join our Top-Coat Paint facility in Huntington, Indiana. The Paint Automation Technician will be responsible monitoring and tracking process parameters, addressing any items that fall out of specification. Certify that system startup parameters are within the required range through both visual audits and digital recordings. Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills are essential. Essential Job Functions:

  • Understand and operate the entire paint system, including the conveyor system, power wash, dry-off oven, style/panel detection area, manual and automatic paint booths, bake ovens, paint mix room, and unload area.
  • Proficient in using and maintaining various paint guns and Bells, including automatic, manual, and spot paint guns.
  • Oversee robotic operations to ensure optimal paint application and conduct quality control checks.
  • Continuously monitor and adjust operating parameters on the paint line as needed to maintain optimal performance.
  • Quickly identify and address any process disruptions, collaborating with production associates, team leaders, and the paint manager.
  • Track paint and solvent consumption, manage FIFO inventory, and certify paint batches.
  • Engage with customers and vendors as necessary.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to the paint process.
  • Help train other associates on paint processes and equipment.
  • Work with suppliers to test new materials and innovations.
  • Operate systems efficiently to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Paint Manager.
Qualifications: To successfully perform this job, an individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below represent the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred. 3-5 years of experience in paint operations is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
