Job DescriptionDEPARTMENT: A1 Packing JOB TITLE: Packer ( Inspecting and Packing Material ) REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor, with the direction from department Team Leader SHIFT DAYS /HOURS: 1st shift Monday - Friday 7:00 am -3:00 pm. 40+ hours per week over the course of 5 days some overtime may require through the week and occasionally on Saturdays. Starting Pay: $18.68 with the ability to earn more. The Packer assists in the packing of cartons by folding them, following prescribed arrangement; placing products in cartons, sealing cartons, affixing proper labels, putting material on pallets, followed by filling out paperwork for shipping. This must all be completed while maintaining a safe work environment. What you will be responsible for:
  • Properly packaging finished product to customer specifications.
  • Attaches identification data onto article.
  • Records factors of damaged goods.
  • Assure cores are proper length for product and set correctly.
  • Work in a safe manner always wearing all required Proper Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Maintain a clean, clutter free workstation.
  • Able to participate in a team-oriented environments.
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures.
  • Accepts feedback from the Team Leader to ensure the bundles meet safety standards.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and always without air conditioning.
What you will need:
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Must pass a skills-based test
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently, self-motivated, self-starter with a minimum of three (3) months related experience and/or will train hands on.
  • Must pass company background check and drug screen.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be conscientious, diplomatic, and detail oriented.
