Role Overview The Electrical Engineer - Industrial Automation will be instrumental in implementing sophisticated automation system projects. This role requires a deep understanding of customer requirements, product line needs, and control system architecture. The successful candidate will develop comprehensive PLC logic, intuitive HMI screens, and clear electrical schematics, ensuring thorough system testing and debugging at Hazelett's state-of-the-art facility. Key Responsibilities
- Develop PLC ladder logic to automate industrial equipment and create an intuitive operator interface. Proficiency in LAD, FBD, STL, and SCL programming languages, with required experience in LAD/FBD.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of detailed electrical schematics for industrial control enclosures and systems.
- Troubleshoot automation control issues and enhance system performance at customer sites.
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical design engineers to develop robust automation and control packages for industrial machinery.
- Contribute to project documentation, including risk assessments and user manuals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proficient in electrical control system programming and maintenance, specifically with Siemens and Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLC and HMI platforms.
- Experience with AC and DC motors, including drives.
- Electrical and control system integration, commissioning, and maintenance experience.
- Proficiency in CAD and ECAD is preferred.
- Field experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Willingness to travel internationally is preferred.
- Strong multitasking skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team-oriented and collaborative mindset.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to accept guidance and direction.
