Job Description and Duties PARK AIDE (SEASONAL) - CHANNEL COAST DISTRICT / CARPINTERIA SECTOR Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKs eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. If verification is not submitted with the application, the application will not be processed. (Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKs program). The reporting location for this position is Carpinteria State Beach - 205 Palm Ave, Carpinteria CA 93013. This position will work under the supervision of the Supervising State Park Ranger and Peace Officer Lead. The Park Aide (Seasonal) is responsible for operating the entrance station to the park. The duties include but are not limited to selling accountable day use documents, checking in campers, printing and preparing passes, using a computer and cash register proficiently, generating reports, engaging in customer service, answering questions, general problem solving, and light maintenance work. The park aide will perform the routine duties dressed in a full California State Parks uniform and adhering to the grooming standards of the Department. The uniform will be purchased by the Park Aide and will be clean and be in good condition at the start of each workday. The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment. This position requires a valid Class C driver's license. Working Conditions The majority of the working shift is spent inside a kiosk working on a computer register, completing light paperwork, and cash handling.
