SUMMARY: The Non Destructive Test (NDT) Technician will use methods such as Visual Testing (VT) and Dye Penetrant (PT/FPI) to inspect parts for quality. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by Supervisors as and when required. ? Processing parts and performing system capability checks specified in the prescribed Method Specifications ? Ensuring the proper performance of the tests in the prescribed Method Specification and maintaining proper communication with the responsible certified Level 2 or Level 3 interpreting the results ? Performing system capability checks specified in the prescribed Method Specification ? Setting up equipment, where applicable ? Assuring that parts are properly processed to the prescribed Method Specification. ? Reading and interpreting indications and evaluating discontinuities with reference to applicable Quality Standards ? Organizing, reporting, and maintaining records of the NDT inspection results ? Performing as a Level 1 if necessary ? Train Trainee or Level 1 when designated by the Responsible Level 3 QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience with gas turbine engines and/or components. Experience with Visual inspection. Demonstrated ability to use precision measuring tools (Micrometers, Indicators, etc.) LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, suppliers, and customers. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
