Overview:

M Health Fairview has an immediate opening for a Patient Registration Specialist at the Highland Park Clinic located in Highland Park, MN. Join M Health Fairview, the largest healthcare system in the state! The M Health Fairview Highland Park Clinic is a growing and collaborative clinic. Our clinic hours are 7AM to 6PM Monday - Thursday and 7AM - 5PM on Fridays, so no evenings, weekends, or holidays. This provides an excellent work life balance!

This is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two week pay period) opening and is benefits-eligible.

Responsibilities/Job Description:

Our Patient Registration crew greets and welcomes patients into the clinic. The verify, register and schedule patients with accurately and efficiently. This includes verifying insurance and demographic information. This team also reviews and maintains patient accounts, secures financial arrangements on self-pay balances prior to and during patient appointments, and researches and facilitates patients questions and concerns.

  • Verifies patient insurance coverage, eligibility, contract group number, effective dates and coverage, accurate insurance, and billing address.
  • Advises patients of insurance coverage co pays or self-pay policy and documents in patients account for front desk staff.
  • Monitors patient balances on patients accounts and alerts patients of outstanding balances to ensure appropriate financial arrangements.
  • Actively participates in crafting and implementing improvements.
  • Answers in-coming calls from patients or internal team members to assist with patient care when needed
  • Schedules appointments for patients with specified clinician according to scheduling guidelines and availability actively trying to accommodate all involved
Qualifications:Preferred
  • Completion of medical terminology course or equivalent experience and education preferred.

  • Ability to prioritize and work with a fluctuation in workload while working independently
  • Ability to adapt to change and engage in ongoing process improvement
  • Flexibility to work at other sites is encouraged
