Job Title: Regional Fiber and Logistics Manager

Position Description: The Regional Fiber and Logistics Manager is responsible for coordinating fiber procurement, logistics, and sustainability initiatives our clients biomass pellet plants in the US Southeast, specifically in Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Georgia. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the effective and efficient supply of biomass materials to support the companys operations.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Relationship Management: Sustain and build relationships for fiber procurement at existing and future and joint venture-owned plants.
  • Delivery Tracking: Monitor all deliveries of fiber to ensure compliance with contract volumes and quality standards.
  • Market Communication: Regularly communicate with buyers and sellers in the market to gain insights into the residuals market and report on opportunities and risks to the Fiber Manager. Manage daily receipts and maintain open lines of communication with sellers.
  • Sustainability Coordination: Assist in managing sustainability certifications, working closely with the Fiber Manager.
  • Logistics Management: Collaborate with back office support in Houston to oversee the delivery of wood pellets via rail and truck, ensuring contract performance and quality assurance at receipt.
  • Negotiation and Contracting: Negotiate and secure additional fiber and logistics for both current and future pellet facilities across the region.

Primary Objectives:

  • Continuously track actual deliveries against contract terms for all raw materials and logistics.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of raw material and logistics in the region, providing regular updates to the Fiber Manager.
  • Secure fiber and logistics at optimal terms and quality while minimizing costs for CM Biomass.
  • Facilitate local sustainability programs effectively.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Broad experience in forest and agricultural resources and/or commodities.
  • Specific expertise in procurement, rail and truck logistics, negotiation, contract management, and sustainability certification.
  • Preferable experience in logistics related to wood or feed pellet production, and familiarity with ERP systems (preferably Microsoft D365).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of QA/QC certification systems and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, supply chains, clients, and vendors simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel (>25% domestic travel required; international travel interest preferred).

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Forestry, Agricultural Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in biomass or residuals procurement in the US Southeast.
