Since 2000, the Imagine! Foundation has supported Imagine! through fundraising and community connections helping Imagine! create a world of opportunity for all abilities. Over time, the Foundation has raised more than $15 million, providing extensive funding toward services for more than 4,300 people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (and their families), in Boulder and Broomfield Counties. The Imagine! Foundation is designated by the IRS as a 501c3 Type 1 Supporting Organization, functioning as the fundraising arm of Imagine!. The Foundation has provided funding for Imagine! programs including, but not limited to: residential services, summer day camp, after-school programs, early intervention therapies, mental and behavioral health supports, adult day programs, employment and job support, and emergency funds. The Foundation also funds the use of emerging technologies and remote supports for Imagine! clients, so they may increase self-sufficiency and quality of life.

Position Summary

We are hiring an Executive Director for our team. This positions primary responsibility is to inspire giving to and support of Imagine!s mission. This is accomplished through close collaboration with the Foundation Board, other volunteers, Imagine! staff and the community at large. Toward this purpose, the Foundation Executive Director helps set the vision and strategy, administer, and manage all aspects of the Imagine! Foundations work. The Director is accountable for raising the annual revenue budget to benefit Imagine!s programs and services and fund Foundation expenses. The position oversees the activities of the Foundation Board, collaborates closely with Imagine!s CEO, CFO, and other executive staff, development and public relations staff, and establishes and maintains positive relationships with a variety of donors. The position also manages a grant writer on behalf of Imagine!.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all fundraising, public awareness, and marketing activities of the Foundation, including campaigns, mailings, special events, and similar actions as directed by the Board. Collaborates with Imagine!s Public Relations staff on communications, e-newsletter, annual reports, campaigns, etc.
  • Manages and works alongside Coordinator on all aspects of the annual fund-raising event, the Imagine! Celebration, including securing sponsorships; tracking ticket sales; organizing volunteers; securing auction items and other donations; establishing the program; securing and working with the auctioneer, venue, check-out service, and other participants; arranging the seating; and acknowledging all cash, auction, and other in-kind donations.
  • Supervises team of staff Development Coordinator, Grant Writer, and any contractors.
  • Collaborates closely with the Imagine! CEO and CFO, manages all financial dealings of the Foundation, including preparing the annual Foundation budget, tracking donations, revenue and expenditures, maintaining bank and investment accounts, processing contributions to Imagine! and transferring funds to Imagine! on a quarterly basis.
  • Coordinates all tasks related to the operation of the Foundation as an IRS-designated Type 1 Supporting nonprofit organization.
  • Manages all Foundation Board activities including recruitment, training, recognition, and communication; manages all board and committee meetings and activities; prepares all board materials such as agendas, weekly updates, yearly calendar, and reports.
  • Oversees the overall grant writing efforts of Imagine!, and supervises contract or direct employed staff with this area of responsibility
  • Coordinates all data entry, reporting, and personal and public acknowledgment of charitable gifts.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by Foundation Board of Directors and the Imagine! Chief Executive Officer

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelors Degree in Non-Profit Management, NGO Management, Business Administration, Human Services, Health Services, Public Relations, Public Policy, Communications/Marketing or similar field.Masters Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of fundraising and donor management experience
  • Minimum of 5 years working with nonprofit board(s) serving on, coordinating with, reporting to, or communicating with on a regular basis
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience of fundraising staff required
  • Expert organizational, writing, speaking, executive functioning and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with Raisers Edge (preferred) or other fundraising/CRM software required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
  • Possession of a valid drivers license and ability to meet Imagine! driving requirements.
  • Expert knowledge of both nonprofit management and fundraising principles and practices.
  • Solid knowledge of grant writing principles and practices to be able to manage a grant writer.
  • Solid knowledge of general budgeting principles and practices.
  • Solid knowledge of marketing principles and practices.
  • Expert ability to effectively communicate with individuals and groups at all professional levels
  • Expert ability to successfully and positively manage relationships with legacy and emerging donors
  • Ability to show a passion for, understanding of, and effectively communicate about Imagine!'s mission and vision

Position Type/Working Environment/Physical Activities

  • This position is located in Lafayette, CO
  • Requires the ability to travel to various locations throughout Boulder and Broomfield counties.
  • This position requires regular use of a personal vehicle with minimum insurance coverage as required by Imagine! policy.
  • This position requires regular use of a personal mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet
  • Will require flexibility in work hours, possibility of evening and weekends required

Compensation

This position is exempt under the professional exemption

Competitive pay range -$100,000-$135,000 commensurate with experience
