Valdese Weavers offers a positive, productive, and progressive environment, along with excellent benefits.Job Summary: Assist slasher tender and other helpers in keeping slasher machines running in order to provide the proper warps for the weaving process.Tools and Equipment used: hoist, beam truck, lift truck, refractometer, cleaning equipment, lock blade knife, and utility knife.Essential Functions:Perform the following duties according to ISO 9001 work instructions and work requirements:Perform beginning shift walk-thru to check for correct set-ups.Set-up Slasher.Put new warps in racks when doffed.Unload empty dye beams from the creel and take to warping.Scan tickets into the computer for storage location.Patrol slasher for end breaks and other quality problems.Prepare in advance for the next set on schedule.Fill in as necessary to operate the slasher.Maintain personal work habits, which meet the demands and stresses of the job.Meet deadlines and production quotas.Get along with co-workers.Follow instructions.Work scheduled overtime.Maintain personal attendance practices to meet established company goalsMake size according to requirements and maintain the size of the kitchen area.Prepare loombeams in advance for production.Assist Slasher Helper/Loader as necessary.Move beams to slasher and load in creel as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.Clean assigned area and sweep slasher room daily.Safety:Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers.Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.Position RequirementsQualifications:Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others.Basic reading, writing, and math skills.Good Color VisionGood physical condition - heavy lifting requiredFull-Time/Part-TimeFull-TimeShiftSecondExempt/Non-ExemptNon-ExemptLocationCrescent St. Valdese, NCEOE StatementWe are an equal employment opportunity employer.
