Emphasis will be placed on paying attention to detail and that everyone is treated with dignity, kindness and respect. RESPONSIBILITIESAccurately schedules patients within the scheduling application, providing necessary preparation instructions and ensuring the proper sequencing of exams.Accurately pre-registers patients within the hospital information systems to ensure completion of demographic and insurance documentation.Anticipates customer and departmental needs and expectations by ensuring all telephone contact is concise and efficient to facilitate call volume demands.Promotes/portrays a high level of professionalism, both technically and personally. Possesses strong work ethic and exhibits optimism. Adheres to the departmental dress code policy and maintains a professional appearance and positive attitude.Maintains current knowledge of insurance authorization coverage/requirements, ensure all relevant procedures have proper authorization/certification details in place prior to the date of service. Communicates effectively with physician's office and patients regarding cancelled procedures.Efficiently uses workflow reporting system to prioritize the pre-registration of scheduled patients, ensuring completion of demographic data and utilizing electronic eligibility resources to verify insurance coverage.Assumes responsibility for ensuring all necessary documentation, such as proper diagnosis, authorization requirements and evidence of prescription orders, are obtained and/or commuicated to appropriate areas prior to the date of service.Promotes positive relationships with other departments, patients, clinicians, physicians, and support staff to enhance services to our patients. Communicates effectively within the department and between shifts in an effort to keep staff informed.
