JOB OVERVIEW
- Primarily unloading of inbound trucks and loading of outbound trucks.
- This is a full-time position. Generally, days and hours of work are Monday through including some Saturdays from 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Weekly work schedules are shared in advance.
- This position is paid hourly and eligible for overtime pay.
- No travel is expected for this position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Loading and unloading of wood daily taking care not to damage wood. Have the ability to properly complete daily paperwork associated with loading and unloading trucks. (half-pack sheets, sign off on loads, proper counts) Load proper wood according to the order detail and notes. Unload and tag wood properly on inbound loads. Meet production goals as set by Management. Adhere to yard rules of operation at all times. Safely operate all machines in accordance with UTD, OSHA, and specific product procedures and recommendations. Complete all daily paperwork necessary to operate the equipment. Be on time and in compliance with the Company Handbook. REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a valid driver's license. Forklift experience: Must have UTD forklift certification, forklift permit, or the ability to demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test. OR
Must have at least 3 months of forklift experience in the past 3 years COMPETENCIES:
Knowledge of company Brand Commitment, Mission, Vision and Values and a desire to be better every day. Have the ability to perform the job's duties in a safe, right, then fast manner. Ability to communicate effectively and be a Team Player. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
May require prolonged standing, sitting, driving, and forklift vibration. Must be able to properly handle wood which may require climbing, balance, stooping, crouching, walking, and lifting. Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions; heat, cold, rain, snow, humidity; fumes, and airborne particles. Must be able to lift/carry 40 pounds or more.
