JOB DESCRIPTION
The Estimator will have a strong track record of planning and executing successful projects through the bid process on Ground Up New Construction, Additions, TI, and Renovations of commercial construction projects, ensuring their successful delivery within schedule and budget along with the ability to manage project team members, clients, and project administration throughout project. Other project experience that could help: Industrial, and Education project experience.
Select Responsibilities:
- Reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting Contract Documents (specifications, drawings, and reference information) to develop detailed, comprehensive cost estimates for cold storage/food processing/industrial/manufacturing construction projects. Also able to make assumptions based on experience with detailed plans are not provided and front end estimating is performed based on conceptual level designs.
- Identifying bid qualifications, risks, and assumptions along with quantities and pricing.
- Ensuring estimates and proposals are performed in accordance with company practices and standards.
- Effectively soliciting and communicating with subcontractors and suppliers through the complete bid process
- Effectively collaborating and coordinating with Architects, Owners, Estimators, Project Managers, and administrative support
- Strategic planning of projects in all preconstruction phases
- Attending or coordinating pre-bid conferences as needed
- Visiting projects on a monthly basis and soliciting feedback about estimate and actual project cost
- Perform quantity take-offs, organize and analyze project information.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 5+ years construction estimating on commercial projects demonstrating competence in hard-bid, design-build, and conceptual estimating for projects in all stages of development
- Bachelors degree in construction management, engineering or related field.
- Strong background in Excel as well as Construction Estimating Software.
- Candidates must possess a strong work ethic; good interpersonal skills; demonstrate good organization, verbal and written communication skills; excellent leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and coordination with team members.
