Apply Now!We are seeking a skilled IT Application Designer to join our team and ensure that communications-computer systems used by Airmen and Guardians are well-designed, integrated, and user-friendly at the human-machine interface. In this role, you will champion the A1 DTA vision and drive improvements in work processes, Air Force strategies, and address key issues and concerns.Your responsibilities will include:• Design and Integration: Provide expert advice and assistance to ensure the design, integration, and interoperability of human-machine interfaces, focusing on both User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) leading to intuitive application design.• Innovative Solutions: Develop creative and imaginative solutions to meet customer needs and expectations, leveraging major pioneering work across DTA, A1, and other MAJCOMs and Staff Sections.• Technical Leadership: Actively support design events by collaborating with designers to translate their creative visions into functional prototypes, offering technical insights and feedback to ensure that the final product aligns with both user needs and technical feasibility.• User Interface Development: Create and refine user interface configurations, designs, plans, and concepts to enhance user information exchange and support Air and Space Force HR missions.• Human-Centered Design (HCD): Develop and apply innovative methodologies in human-centered design for IT to satisfy operational needs, continually monitoring the UI/UX development lifecycle.• User Feedback: Conduct surveys and polls of the user base (including Total Force, Civilian, and Contract workforce) to evaluate current UI/UX products, improve delivery, and reduce the burden on employees using Human Resource software.• Technology Advocacy: Advocate for and recommend evolving technologies to enhance the usability of communications-computer systems, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations through effective persuasion, negotiation, or direction.You will be responsible for making decisions on complex, undefined issues, requiring extensive analysis and the establishment of new concepts or resolution of previously unyielding problems. Join us to shape the future of user interfaces and user experiences in critical communications systems.Must be a U.S. Citizen.Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.Knowledge and skill in applying a wide range of software development, UI/UX, and HCD principles, concepts, and methods as well as techniques, processes, developing, delivering, managing, and maintaining HR information systems when the paramount knowledge requirement is human resources management.Knowledge of Air Force-level program goals and objectives, organizational structures and the relationship of various DoD and Air Force entities involved in overall policy and planning, sequence, and timing of key operational events; milestones; execution of military operations and evaluations; the Planning, Programming, and Budgeting System (PPBS) support process: and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions related to actual events to provide Air Staff-level staff guidance and or conduct studies is highly desired.Knowledge and skill in applying program management principles, methods, and practices including developing plans and schedules, estimating resource requirements, defining milestones and deliverables, monitoring activities, and evaluating and reporting on accomplishments.Cyberspace Qualification is a condition of employment. This position includes Cyberspace work as a paramount duty requirement. Per Department of Defense Manual (DoDM) 8140.03, para 4.2.a.(2)., requires foundational qualification requirements within 9 months of assignment to a cyberspace work role and resident qualification requirements within 12 months of assignment to a cyberspace work role. A waiver of these requirements may be granted per DoDM 8140.03. Failure to achieve and maintain the proper Cyberspace Qualification may result in removal from this position.Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.Ability to plan, organize, and lead staff of a small to medium sized organization.Must achieve IAM Level II certification within six months of assignment.
