Job Summary:

The Sales Director for our organization is a strategic leader responsible for driving sales growth, developing key client relationships, and expanding market share. This role requires a seasoned professional with exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in sales and business development.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy Development:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets and business objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with senior management to set sales goals and create action plans.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for major accounts, addressing their needs and resolving issues.
  • Conduct regular meetings and reviews with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and collective goals.
  • Provide training and professional development opportunities to enhance team skills and performance.
  • Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular performance reviews.

Sales Operations:

  • Oversee the sales pipeline, from prospecting to closing deals, ensuring efficient and effective sales processes.
  • Implement best practices and sales methodologies to optimize performance and productivity.
  • Develop and monitor sales metrics and KPIs to track progress and make data-driven decisions.

Market Analysis and Business Development:

  • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and emerging trends.
  • Develop and execute strategies for market penetration and expansion.
  • Identify and pursue new business leads, partnerships, and strategic alliances.

Collaboration with Other Departments:

  • Work closely with the marketing team to align sales and marketing strategies.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure seamless execution of logistics solutions and client satisfaction.
  • Liaise with finance and customer service teams to address any issues affecting client accounts.

Reporting and Forecasting:

  • Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance summaries to senior management.
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience (3-5 years) as a Sales Director or similar leadership role within the logistics or supply chain industry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of logistics operations, market dynamics, and industry trends.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
