Job DetailsThe Buyer I performs entry level professional purchasing procedures in the acquisition of goods and services from a variety of supplier(s). This role will serve as a liaison between the Procurement department and internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Correspond with suppliers concerning price changes, contract adjustments, terminations, item values, and schedule changes
Work with higher level employees to develops timelines and conducts acquisition in compliance with procurement policy and contractual requirements
Support in Proposal/Estimating activity by issuing Request for Quotation(s), Quotation Evaluation, and Priced Bill of Material computation
Support request for proposal activities for new or existing customer opportunities
Coordinate completion of annual supplier representations and certifications
Assist in conducting analysis of the quality and performance of goods, supplies, equipment, and/or services; and in performing cost/benefit, life cycle costing and/or commodity standardization studies
Participate in department improvement activities
Support expediting of purchase orders
Research contract history and related contract agreements
Assist in identifying supplier performance requirements by reviewing the performance capability of suppliers and evaluating goods and services, and sourcing vendors for assigned commodities
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree in Business related studies or HS Diploma (or equivalent) with applicable experience in lieu of a Degree may be considered.
