Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc., (AMT) an employee-owned consultant engineering firm, Engineering News Record Top 500 firm and a Zweig White Hot Firm, provides multidisciplinary services including engineering, environmental, landscape architecture, surveying and construction administration and inspection.AMT is growing and is seeking a highly motivated Senior Municipal / Water Resources Engineer, with 10+ years of relevant experience, to join our growing Team of design professionals. The right candidate would work from AMT's Abingdon office on a combination of municipal infrastructure and water resources projects with a focus on nearby localities such as towns, cities and counties. In this role, you will support a variety of transportation design projects including local roadway improvements with sidewalks, shared use paths and greenways. You will also support water resources projects including spot drainage improvements, flood mitigation, state regulated dams, and stormwater management programs and stormwater BMP retrofits.This is an excellent opportunity to work on challenging projects, develop your career, and seek advancement as a municipal engineer to help lead our local engineering team.     • Leading technical role for municipal transportation projects involving mostly sidewalks and shared use paths.
    • Leading technical role for water resources engineering design, including stormwater and environmental permitting and design approvals.
    • Coordinate internally with other AMT engineers, surveyors, and design professionals on a wide variety of projects.
    • Coordinate externally with local clients and regulatory agencies.
    • Ensure project deliverables are complete, meet client requirements, and follow QA/QC procedures.
Required Qualifications
    • Required Qualifications
    • BS in Civil Engineering or Equivalent Education
    • Minimum 10 years of municipal engineering experience including design supervision
    • Hands-On Design experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, preferred
    • Virginia and Tennessee PE licensure, preferred
    • Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Proven ability to bring leadership and team building skills to grow the local office
