Description The Credit Risk Associate will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, measuring, and monitoring key credit risks related to CME's counterparties and exposures for securities clearing. The primary responsibilities of the Associate are to assess credit risks related to counterparties and exposures and develop key risk methodologies and processes related to credit risk management. The Associate will cover CME Securities Clearing's higher-risk and most complex counterparties to ensure proper risk controls are in place. Ideally the candidate will have experience analyzing hedge funds, leveraged funds and/or proprietary trading firms. In addition, the Associate will play an active role in cross-department projects, aid in preparing documentation for regulatory requests, and provide guidance and development support for the risk team. Principal Responsibilities: • Leverage financial analysis knowledge and CME's credit model to evaluate the credit risk of CME's counterparties and exposures with very little oversight or guidance • Aid in the yearly review and calibration of risk models and methodologies including involvement in the validation process • Lead the build-out and implementation of risk management procedures, processes and methodologies • Play an active role during due diligence reviews with external parties including, but not limited to, CME Securities Clearing's Members • Engage other teams to perform cross-functional projects within CME Group • Aid in the compliance of CME Securities Clearing's regulatory requirements through engagements with regulators and providing assistance in regulatory and third-party requests • Compose comprehensive credit, industry and general market reviews and commentary with little-to-no oversight • Present analysis and other projects to risk committees with minimal oversight • Provide guidance and developmental support to Analysts on the risk team Qualifications: -5+ years in a credit risk management or financial analysis role -Strong quantitative and analytical skills -Demonstrated track record of proficiency in Google Sheets and/or MS Excel and use of the program to build risk tools -Strong knowledge of Google and/or Microsoft Suite; Bloomberg -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities changes -Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or other business-related field. The salary range for this role is $97,900-$163,100. Actual salary offered will be dependent on a wide array of factors including but not limited to: relevant experience, skills, education and comparison to internal employees (where relevant).
