We are currently hiring for a Millwright I (starting at $42/hour) amd a Millwright II (starting at $47/hour), offering a supportive work environment and opportunities for career advancement.
Qualifications:
* Proficient in understanding and working with mechanical systems and components commonly found in sawmills, such as conveyor systems, saws, kilns, and debarkers.
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
* Skilled in welding and fabrication techniques for repairing and modifying equipment components.
* Strong problem-solving skills to identify and diagnose mechanical issues quickly and accurately.
* Ability to implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
* Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems commonly used in sawmill machinery.
* Ability to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot issues related to these systems.
* Basic understanding of electrical systems and components associated with sawmill equipment. Knowledge of electrical safety practices and the ability to work alongside electricians when needed.
* Experience in implementing preventive maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and reliability of machinery.
* Strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues. Knowledge of and compliance with relevant safety regulations in the sawmill industry.
* Effective communication with team members, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and address concerns.
* Collaborative approach to work, demonstrating the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Willingness to share knowledge and mentor less experienced millwrights or apprentices.
* Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work during non-standard hours or weekends to address urgent maintenance needs
* Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Millwright in a sawmill environment or ability to demonstrate technical proficiency in the above required qualifications.
* Advanced troubleshooting skills and the ability to handle complex machinery repairs.
Compensation:
Millwright I: starting at $42.00 per hour.
Millwright II - starting at $47 per hour.
