Location: Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center

Management: Campbell Street Senior Living

Position Summary: The Environmental Services Assistant (ESA) plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff at Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Under new management with Campbell Street Senior Living , the ESA will support the overall mission of enhancing the quality of life for our residents through effective and efficient cleaning and sanitation practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Perform routine cleaning of resident rooms, common areas, restrooms, and other facility spaces to ensure a hygienic environment.
  • Waste Management: Collect and dispose of waste, recyclables, and biohazard materials following established protocols.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting any shortages to the supervisor.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently, performing routine maintenance and reporting any malfunctions.
  • Compliance: Adhere to infection control policies and safety regulations to maintain a safe environment for residents and staff.
  • Communication: Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and resident satisfaction.
  • Training and Orientation: Participate in training sessions to stay current with best practices in environmental services.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform other duties as assigned by the Environmental Services Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a cleaning or custodial role, preferably in a healthcare setting, is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and their safe use.
  • Certifications: Must meet state requirements for health and safety training as outlined by the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals.
