Workroom Manager (Drapery Industry)
Essential Tasks
- Overall Coordination of efficient workroom production flow.
- Maintain and order workroom components and supplies.
- Confirm quality standards are being met or exceeded.
- Ensure all equipment is in proper working order and maintenance schedules are met.
- Meet workroom widths per day quotas.
- Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, and training, as necessary.
- Keep seamstresses trained on different equipment and processes.
- Manage seamstresses by proper allocation of talent and timing.
- Troubleshoot any manufacturing issues that may arise.
- Ensure workroom stays clean and orderly.
- Communicate job statuses to Project Director.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a workroom manager.
- 5 years of experience in a DRAPERY workroom.
- Proficient in English and Spanish.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to delegate tasks effectively.
- Good team leader.
- Extensive knowledge about the sewing machines in the workroom.
- Extensive knowledge about drapery structure and manufacturing process.
- Extensive knowledge about fabrics and usage.
- Team player with organizational skills.
- Problem solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to lift or move heavy products.
- Ability to perform tasks that require repetitive movements.
