Direct ReportHunters Education Lead InstructorEmployee Profile and Desired Traits•High level emotional intelligence•Active in team dynamics, conflict prevention/resolution, and identifying customer needs•Cheerful attitude and servant leadership disposition•Dedicated customer service and people oriented•Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn•Ability to interact with men and women of all ages and maturity levels of staff/customersDuties & Responsibilities•Instruct programs in hunters' education, firearm safety, wildlife management and conservation. •Operate indoor simulation range and provide coaching for firearm techniques•Present and teach in front of 20-40 people and clearly transfer knowledge•Assist in the set up and takedown of the Skills Center facilities and equipment. •Properly inspect, use, and maintain all equipment at The Crafton Sportsman Complex. •Keep program areas inspected, safe, neat, clean, and organized •Ensure the safety of all participants participating in program•Turn accurate advancement paperwork into supervisor in a timely manner•Other duties or projects as assigned by SBR leadership•Abide by policies and procedure outlined in the SBR staff handbookQualifications & Training•18 years of age or older•Preferred: NRA (Rifle/Shotgun) and USA Archery Level 1 (training provided)•Preferred: Hunter with knowledge of hunting laws, conservation, wildlife agencies/WVDNR•Be comfortable working with variety of firearms, bows, and hunting gear/equipment •Computer literacy and ability to use presentation software•Ability to use Microsoft Teams daily for work related communication and coordination•Be or become a registered member of Scouting AmericaPerformance Results•Completes contract period with 2-4 positive experiences•Receive one or more positive comments from staff or participants•Contribute to positive improvements in the Hunter Education Program•Provide at least one memorable moment that matters to a participantPhysical Requirements•Up to 8 hours a day of either standing, walking, hiking, and the ability to lift 60 lbs.•Can pass the physical exam and approved for SBR height and weight requirements UniformSummit staff uniformHousing10x12' Platform TentStaff CampExpected Working Hours45 - 55
