DescriptionHighlights of the job We are hiring a full time Electrician I, reporting to our San Tan Valley, AZ site. This individual will maintain the electrical needs for our San Tan facilities and Copper Basin. What you'd be responsible for
- Performing a variety of mechanical and electrical maintenance duties at water/wastewater plants, pumping stations and other facilities in the Eastern District.
- Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairs, adjusting, calibrations and fabricating a wide variety of electronic and electro-mechanical equipment including portable and stationary generators, control circuits, motors, relays, switch gears, instrumentation, current loops, alarm circuits, engine controls, variable speed and level control devices, and programmable controllers.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, conduit and lighting fixtures.
- Evaluate part and equipment failures; order parts, materials, and supplies required for electrical and mechanical repairs.
- Assist with repairs on HVAC, mechanical, electrical distribution, hydraulic, and plumbing systems.
- Ensure preventative maintenance programs are monitored and closed out.
- Ensure that operational integrity (quality, environment, reliability, health, safety and security) meet required regulatory and company standards
What's required to be successful This position requires a high school diploma or GED, supplemented by a formal apprenticeship as an electrical/mechanical worker or specialized advanced training in electrical maintenance and repair. Valid AZ driver's license with excellent driving record. Journeyman license required. Experience as an electrical/mechanical worker in the water and wastewater utility industry highly desired. Requires knowledge of utility system maintenance programs and working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and process control equipment and systems. Computer proficiency with Word and Excel. Must obtain ADEQ Grade 1 certifications in Distribution, WT, WWT and/or WW Collections within 1 year of hire. Electrician I candidates must have: Four (4) years on job or equivalent experience. Electrician II candidates must have: Six (6) years on job or equivalent experience.
