***JOB OPENING***DEPARTMENT: Lamination JOB TITLE: Lamination Supervisor REPORTS TO: Department Manager TOTAL NUMBER OF POSITIIONS: 1 PAY: $22.00 per hour (As applicable, in determining a final rate of pay for a current employee, a compensation calculation occurs accounting for length of current employment.) WORK SCHEDULE: 2nd Shift (Monday – Friday, 1:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.) To be successful in this position, and at Cardinal Glass as a production supervisor, the person in this position must recognize a primary principle of management is all about focus and unity. Your leadership should exude intelligence, judgement, tactfulness, positive energy, integrity, honesty, and your professional knowledge. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Communicate respectfully through emails and face to face conversations with all levels of team members.
  • Work with Shift manager to ensure product flow meets customer expectations.
  • Work with other supervisors on your shift to improve quality and on time completions.
  • Support Cardinal LG policies and procedures as they are outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Guide and instruct workers in day-to-day activities.
  • Maintain positive relationships within the organization.
  • Communicate higher-level goals and objectives to team members.
  • Assist in resolving grievances of team members.
  • Train/coach existing and new team members.
  • Prepare periodical reports regarding the performance of team members.
  • Ensure all performance reviews are completed in a timely manner with each team member.
  • Verify that all corrective action items have been addressed.
  • Verify that all Safety training is up to date.
  • Verify all equipment issues have been addressed and follow up on any unresolved issues.
  • Complete Velocity reporting on hazards/near miss and close calls promptly.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings at the start of every shift; pre-shift meetings to include attendance roll call, PPE audits, safety talks and discussion of hot topics.
  • Assign team members daily positions on the production lines, claves, and buffing spots.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping is completed during shift hours to include brooms, shovels, and any other hand tools that are no longer being used are stored in their proper area or designated staging area to prevent any hazards during and throughout the entire shift.
  • Complete a walk-through of each line in the department at the beginning of each shift to ensure all machinery is running and operating correctly.
  • Complete a clave audit prior to the shift beginning to ensure all products on floor are accounted for a on the correct rack.
  • Complete status reports to ensure awareness of priority units that need to be expedited to the next steps in production.
  • Maintain proper flow of production without gaps in between schedules by ensuring priorities are met on the production lines and all needed units are run.
  • Maintain awareness of your area of work to ensure that any issues preventing racks from returning to the proper department is rectified and finds its proper home (i.e.: reworks, reclaves, buffs, rejected raw, extra glass, etc.).
  • Complete an end of shift pass down report with updated production numbers, important notes for the incoming shift, and any issues that have not been resolved and communicate this information to supervisors coming on shift through a detailed turnover.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year (12 months in total) of working at Cardinal LG (For Internal Applicants).
  • Previous work experience and knowledge preferred; however, on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Excellent work performance.
  • Zero progressive discipline in the last six months for internal applicants.
  • Must read and comprehend shop floor monitor.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must have a team mindset.
  • Must understand the importance of goal setting and achieving set goals.
  • Must have a positive attitude that aligns with Cardial LG's leadership philosophy of cultivating a positive work environment.
  • Must possess a sense of urgency in completing work on time.
  • Must behave ethically and treat team members with respect.
  • Must exhibit empathy towards team members.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and team lift 100 pounds per Cardinal standards.
  • Knowledge of specs for customers.
