Job Description:The Purchasing Associate position will be responsible for compliant procurement and contracting of goods and services which will support the Research Foundation's and NYCREATES academic, research, industry, governmental, and economic development missions.The Purchasing Associate primary responsibilities will be to support the efforts of the Procurement Office. This is an onsite position with potential of working towards hybrid/remote eligibility after completion of the probationary period and pending supervisory continuous approval.Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:1. Compliant Procurement of Goods and ServicesVendor selection determinationPrice reasonability determinationAnalysis of business termsContracting terms and conditions negotiationCollaboration with Research Foundation and NYCREATES legal teamsAdvisement of and recommendations to operation managers, executives, researchers and staffAccurate & timely facilitation of request for quotes, invitation for bids, request for proposals, centralized contracts, SSJs, blanket PO's, blanket releases and online ordersCompliance with all applicable Research Foundation, State, Federal and NYCREATES procurement policies, procedures, and best practicesUpdating procurement status trackers accurately & timely, informing supervisor of procurements non-conforming to turn-around expectations, support of the Office of Asset ManagementMaintaining open communication with all internal parties as appropriate2. Finance SupportBlanket purchase order payment request processingInvoicing review and discrepancy resolution3. OutreachMaintain appropriate & consistent contact between departments as necessaryIndividual will be responsible for educating stakeholders in procurement processes & compliant methods4. Other reasonable duties as assignedRequirements:Minimum Requirements for Purchasing AssociateBachelor's degree (direct related experience may replace educational requirement)1-2 years purchasing and/or finance experienceAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environmentStrong organizational and communication skillsExperience with Microsoft Office suitePreferred QualificationsExperience with Oracle business software in a Sponsored Funds environment1-2 years procurement experience conducting request for proposalsStrong critical thinking skills1-2 years of practical experience in contract negotiationsPractical working experience with Research Foundation, NYS and/or Federal procurement policy including MWBE engagements and reportingDon't meet every requirement?
