Our lovely Violet family currently lives in the vibrant Castro District of San Francisco. They may soon find their next adventure closer to the Marina. They have a sweet 3.5-year-old daughter and a new baby boy who is 3 months old! Oh and don't forget their adorable little dog who touts himself as family member #1! They also have a second home in Santa Rosa where they spend weekends and holidays, so someone comfortable traveling to Marin County will also be important.

This position is for a seasoned candidate with at least 5-10 years of recent professional experience. An ideal candidate will be someone who has previously worked full charge within a household and who works well with other household staff, taking initiative within the “whole” household. They are looking for someone flexible and reliable with a keen sense of executive function.

A resume and cover letter are appreciated. This can be a live-in or out position but we are focusing on candidates who are either in San Francisco or just over the Golden Gate Bridge if they are commuting.

Responsibilities:

  • Helping to manage vendors and other household staff

  • High flexibility and availability to work overnights and travel

  • Create a nurturing and positive environment for our children, encouraging their development through outdoor activities, creative play, and interactive imagination.

  • Manage the children's daily schedule, including school drop-offs and pick-ups, ensuring they are punctual and well-prepared.

  • Maintain open and thoughtful communication with the parents, keeping them informed about the children's activities, milestones, and any important updates.

  • Assist with light organization and tidying of the children's surroundings, while acknowledging that deep cleaning and meal preparation are taken care of by additional help.

  • Establish and maintain good boundaries with the children, fostering a nurturing and loving atmosphere.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience working with young school-age children, showcasing a genuine passion for their well-being and development.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively, ensuring a smooth daily routine.

  • Excellent communication skills, enabling clear and open dialogue with both children and parents.

  • Flexibility to adapt to the family's needs and routines, catering to their unique requirements and preferences.

  • Desire for a long-term commitment, with a willingness to stay with the family for at least 1-3+ years.

To ensure the success of our nanny position, we have established the following requirements:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of recent, professional experience in childcare.

  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Impressive references from past employers, demonstrating reliability, professionalism, and exceptional childcare skills.

  • Willingness to undergo two background checks, namely Trustline and Nanny Verify, ensuring the safety and security of our children.

  • Valid U.S. citizenship or work authorization.

  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • CPR certification (if applicable).

  • Current vaccinations, including flu, Tdap, and proof of Covid-19 vaccination and boosters.
