Position Summary Oversees daily functions of the Admitting department registration process and Admitting Registrars. Completes the scheduling for all Admitting/Bed Control Shifts. Completes training of all new registrars and does follow up with registers regarding errors. Completes the Admitting team's quality reviews. Able to assist with the team's work (Registration/Bed Control) as needed. Continually improves the effectiveness of the department's work process. Responsible for staff scheduling, performance, trend and denial prevention, reaching the annual POS collections goals. Also, responsible for Press Ganey, interdepartmental Satisfaction & Employees' satisfaction maintained. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Include the Following: 1. Completes/maintains the scheduling for the Admitting Department in a timely manner. 2. Secures coverage for all PTO requests (sick or vacation requests). 3. Completes QRs monthly /Biweekly for both registration and bed control. 4. Review unbilled service charges and make adjustments if needed. 5. Communicates with other departments (Patient Care, HIM) and initiate and/or perform corrections if necessary (e.g. canceling an admission, duplicate medical records). 6. Trains any new hires and provides all Registrars with updates on policies and procedures. 7. Works with the team to improve the registration integrity and to increase the POS collection. 8. Assures weekend coverage for all shifts. 9. Receives call-outs from team during scheduled work hours 10. Represents the Admitting department in the meetings if required. 11. Maintains the Ambulatory and ATC turnaround time. 12. Maintains IT support when they need accounts to be generated for testing. 13. Works with Ambulatory and Endo departments to ensure cooperation and team work. 14. Provides coverage for the cashier's office if necessary. 15. Oversees the team by making sure the lunch hour protocol is followed, and lunch coverage is assigned for all shifts including weekends. 16. Works with the team to meet their goals. 17. Works closely with the Director and provide feedbacks on all important issues. 18. Sets department meeting Monthly. 19. Assists in completing probationary and scheduled appraisals for staff evaluations. 20. Ensures accuracy of registrations as well as team adherence to protocols and hospital standards. 21. Monitors the work of staff to verify that they are thoroughly gathering patients' demographic and financial information to maximize payment for services rendered. 22. Responds to concerns and/or complaints from patients, the public, medical staff, subordinates, and/or other hospital employees pertaining to assigned areas in order to maintain positive customer relations; researches and investigates issues; prepares written or oral responses as needed. 23. Oversees the preparation and maintenance of documents and information in order to comply with administrative policies as well as JCAHO and other regulations. 24. Enforces the best practice assignment and make sure the teams do meet the goal consistently. 25. Works with staff to improve both intradepartmental and Press Ganey patients' satisfaction. 26. Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors. 27. Performs all other related duties as assigned. Education & Experience Requirements •GED or High School Graduate, some college preferred •5-10 years previous Patient Access Hospital experience required •Working Knowledge of the Registration and Bed Control workflows •Ability to use basic office equipment and Microsoft / Excel •Medical Terminology Required •Capable of typing 45wpm Core Competencies •Excellent Teamwork; Good Communication and Problem-Solving Skills, •Communication; problem-solving skills •Integrity to handle the confidential aspects of work •Retains composure under stress $61,972.95-$92,959.23
