DescriptionThe Center for Urban Community Services, a national leader in the development of effective housing and service initiatives for homeless people, is currently hiring for an open Tenant Services Coordinator position at the Times Square and The Prince George supportive housing residences. The Times Square and The Prince George provide permanent affordable housing and supportive services for low-income and formerly homeless individuals including many of whom have histories of psychiatric disabilities, HIV/AIDS, substance use disorders, and/or other chronic medical conditions. CUCS provides comprehensive on-site social services using a recovery orientation.The Prince George, with 415 studio apartments and The Times Square with 650 studio apartments, are beautiful buildings, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. They are centrally located in midtown Manhattan, easily accessible by public transportation. The Tenant Services / Therapeutic Activities Coordinator is responsible for working with tenants and staff at the program sites to identify program needs and coordinate therapeutic groups and activities for tenants in the building and in the greater community. The Tenant Services Coordinator will implement programming at both sites, provide task supervision of instructors, will facilitate events, and develop resources that will enhance tenants' access to cultural and educational services and events in the community.Evidence Based and Evidence Informed Practices:Wellness Self-ManagementSupported EmploymentPerson-Centered Service PlanningTrauma-informed Case ManagementMotivational InterviewingParenting JourneyCollaborating with all family members to maintain safe and nurturing households and communities.Collaborating with parents to help strengthen the family system.Collaborating with families in fostering success in education.Assisting families to take full advantage of the resources in the community to develop a supportive social network.RequirementsBA and 2 years direct service experience with indicated populations (BSW and 1 year); or Associate's Degree with 3 years relevant experience Demonstrated ability to serve a special needs population such as homeless people and/or people living with mental illnesses Demonstrated ability to work with school aged children Related experience and knowledge of designated therapeutic activity Experience with families preferred Good verbal and written communication skills Computer literacy Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
