ILG has over 4,300 employees, 225 locations, and a presence in 42 of the top 50 homebuilding markets in the U.S.ILG supplies and installs the following to the residential and commercial builder trades: Flooring, Cabinetry, Countertops, and Window coverings.Descriptive SummaryThe Material Handler for the Countertop Fabrication Shop is responsible for safely handling and moving large slabs of granite, quartz, and other stone materials. This role will coordinate material flow, organize inventory, and ensure efficient operation within the fabrication shop. The position plays a key part in maintaining an organized and clean work environment, preparing materials for production, and supporting the overall workflow.Essential Functions
  • Safely handle and transport large stone slabs (granite, quartz, marble, etc.) using appropriate equipment (cranes, forklifts, etc.).
  • Organize, stage, and move materials to designated production areas for cutting and fabrication.
  • Assist in loading/unloading materials and products for delivery or transport within the facility.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the material handling areas, including the fabrication shop.
  • Ensure proper labeling, inventory control, and tracking of materials.
  • Coordinate with the fabrication team to ensure the timely flow of materials and support production needs.
  • Assist with minor maintenance of tools and machinery used in material handling.
  • Comply with all safety protocols, including personal protective equipment (PPE) and lifting techniques.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Forklift experience is preferred; crane operation experience is a plus.
  • Prior experience working with stone materials (granite, quartz) or in a countertop fabrication environment preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve material flow issues in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs with or without accommodation, and handle heavy, bulky materials safely.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management, project management software, and material handling equipment operation.
