MORPC is seeking an Executive Assistant for the Programming Department to support the Transportation and Economic Development teams within the department. The position is responsible for overseeing the coordination of activities related to the department, including a wide range of executive focused administrative tasks.
Examples of Duties
* Coordinate and direct administrative support functions for the department as directed by department leadership.
* Conduct administrative and clerical tasks such as phone calls, scheduling appointments, meetings, receiving visitors, department organization, and proper and correct dissemination of information to staff, board members, and outside contacts.
* Aid with event planning and coordination. This includes preparing and distributing meeting agendas and summaries, setting up the room, ordering and preparing refreshments, and cleaning up after the event.
* Aid team members with department administration including contract preparation and review and project tracking, internal budgeting, staff training management.
* Maintain files and prepare records retention information.
* Assist Programming team members with proofreading, presentations, and reports.
* Schedule conference rooms for meetings and review conference room dates reserved by the
department to verify information is accurate.
* Cross train and provide back-up according to the agency's administrative support plan.
* Work on special projects as assigned by department leadership.
* Keep abreast of professional developments in the field.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

* Strong computer aptitude.
* Diploma or degree in Business Administration or Management Studies, or equivalent combinationof education, training, and experience; minimum of four (4) years proven project or executive- level administrative support experience.
* Prior experience working in a local or state government and/or non-profit organization preferred.
* Public relations and/or event management experience also preferred.
