NY1512156 Laborers needed for the Madison County Department of Solid Waste in Wampsville, NY.Pay rate is $21.35 per hour.Madison County seeks two full-time Laborers for the Solid Waste Department. Duties include manual tasks such as litter and general clean-up around the facility, lawn and site maintenance, pump cleaning, shoveling snow, road maintenance, and transfer operation work. The incumbents will also assist in the construction, operations, and maintenance of the landfill by operating power driven tools and equipment such as saws, compressors, fusible pipe welders, drills, mixers, pumps and mowers. Hand tools used will include shovels, scythes, forks and rakes. The position involves performing semi-skilled inspections, maintenance and repair work on assigned equipment. The incumbents will do related work as required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: None are required, but some experience in heavy manual labor is desirable.NOTE: Possession of an appropriate New York State Driver's License is required at the time of appointment and maintenance of said license for the duration of appointment.To Apply: Go to:
