DescriptionAbout the Position: The Learning Commons is looking for a dynamic and creative individual with a performing arts background to join our team as aSimulation Specialist and Front Desk Administrator . This role is perfect for someone passionate about education and the performing arts, eager to engage students in innovative and interactive ways.Key Responsibilities: As a Simulation Specialist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the learning experience for our students by facilitating tutoring sessions using Mursion, a cutting-edge simulation platform. For more information on Mursion, please visit Mursion's Website.Your primary duties will include:Facilitating Simulation Sessions:Conduct tutoring sessions through Mursion's digital avatars, mirroring traditional tutoring experiences in a virtual environment.Customize sessions to fit specific educational needs, ensuring a tailored and impactful learning experience for each student.Develop a deep understanding of the Mursion program to effectively operate and troubleshoot the system during sessions.Script Development and Implementation:Write and refine scripts for simulation sessions to create realistic scenarios that meet educational objectives.Collaborate with educators and other staff to ensure scripts are aligned with the curriculum and enhance student learning outcomes.Front Desk and Administrative Support:Manage front desk operations, including greeting students, checking them in and out, and directing them to their assigned tutors.Oversee the assignment of students to tutors, ensuring an efficient flow within the Learning Commons.Accurately log student attendance and session details in our scheduling system.Develop, organize, and maintain documentation for the Learning Commons to support operational needs and enhance student services.Assist with various administrative tasks as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Learning Commons.RequirementsWe are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:Background in Performing Arts:Preferably with experience in theater, film, improv, or other performing arts disciplines. This experience will be crucial for bringing digital avatars to life and engaging students in a realistic manner.Strong Communication Skills:Ability to convey information clearly and effectively, both in person and through digital platforms.Adaptability and Willingness to Learn:Eagerness to master new technologies and adapt to the evolving needs of the Learning Commons.Attention to Detail:Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Customer Service Orientation:A friendly, approachable demeanor and a commitment to providing excellent service to all students and staff.Ability to work3 pm - 9 pm.
