Summary of PositionLays out, fabricates, assembles, and repairs jigs, fixtures, forms, templates, and related tooling used in manufacturing aircraft parts and assemblies, following blueprints, sketches, and specifications, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.Essential FunctionsMaintain safe operations by adhering to safety regulationsOperate crane, forklift, and heaving machineryExamines blueprints and/or MBD models for templates, jigs, fixtures, or other bond tools to be builtUse of measuring equipment: micrometers, calipers, etc.Work with aluminum, steel, graphite materials, etc.Use of hand tools, power tools, and various shop equipmentDeburring and grinding of toolsTrack hours on all jobsAny additional duties assigned by managementRequired Skills, Education & ExperienceAny combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environmentMinimum 2-5 years' experience in setup and operating lathes, bridgeport, surface grinder, etc.Ability to read and understand blueprints and GD&TBasic math skillsThis position must meet Export Control Compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22.C.F.R. is requiredPrefered QualificationsAbility to effectively handle tasks in a fast-paced environmentAble to work varied shifts, overtime and weekends when necessaryAbility to work with management team to help drive performance of locationSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYNoneTravelAs necessaryWorking ConditionsWorking conditions described here are representative of those that may be experienced by an employee on a daily basis while performing the functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes and airborne particles.The employee may be exposed to vibrationThe employee is occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals.
