Job Summary:
AssistOperator in productionof heat-set webprinted materials and maintenance ofwebpresseswhilecontinually learningmachine operations and printing technique.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Read and understand work orderverifyingcorrectsubstrate, bind type, ink color, and run lengths.
- Ordersubstrate while consideringthe needs of theoncomingshift.
- Set upstackerandbundler to sendadequateandwellidentifiedbundles tobindery.
- Understandsubstrate– weights,PPI, size, graindirection, coating, marking and storage
- Loadcorrectsubstrateinto the machine while tracking slab-off,wasteconsumption and return weights.
- Learn all phases of the press operation
- Ensure bundles conform tobindery needs including proper identification.
- Be sure allwasteisdisposed of properly includingprinted and blanksubstrate.
- See that all skids are safely stacked and wrapped before leavingpressarea.
- Learn to interpret the information on the work order and its contents.
- Assist Operator as needed.
- Run presseffectivelyintemporaryabsence ofOperator.
- Assistmaintenance personnel with machine repair.
- Exercise initiative, ask questions and look for ways of improvingproductivity.
- Adequately communicate withoncomingshift
- Perform end of shift duties leaving area ready foroncomingshift.
