At GCI, we solve the hard problems. As a Payroll Specialist, a typical day will include the following duties:
This position will work closely with the Payroll Manager and other departments to process semi-monthly payrolls for 400+ employees timely and accurately. The candidate will assist in updating multiple systems, so must be very meticulous. They will interact with employees by doing presentations and answering questions about timesheets, payroll and other items. The ideal candidate would be an extremely detail-oriented, strong team player who is dependable, and able to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review Timesheets
* Post Labor
* Process Payroll
* Entering salary changes, new hires and terminations
* Perform maintenance on system to include setting up contract work forces, employee records, etc.
* Conduct briefings for employee and supervisors
* Assist with audits when needed
* Respond to employees questions
Required Qualifications:
* Deltek Costpoint experience
* 3 years or more experience with processing payroll
* The ability to multi-task
* Discretion handling confidential information
* Excellent communication skills
* Understanding of Federal/state tax laws and withholdings
Desired Qualification
* Experience with UKG (Ultipro) system
* Microsoft Word/Excel
Education
High School Diploma or higher
