The candidate will co-ordinate with various departments, managing set-related logistics to support our creative vision.Role + Purpose
  • Oversee the design and construction of sets, ensuring they meet the desired look and feel for each shoot.
  • Source and manage props, backgrounds, and set materials.
  • Lead a team of one to manage set design for J.Crew and J.Crew Factory. Women's, Men's and Kids.
  • Manage and hire freelance roster of props designers who will maintain and compliment vision.
  • Have a keen understanding of macro brand vision, cross channel, assuring set design sits cohesively back to brands and departments.
  • Balance continuity and newness.
  • Present quarterly seasonal ideas to the Art Directors.
  • Collaborate with Art Directors & Photographers on all shoots.
  • Manage the set budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
  • Liaise with external vendors and suppliers for set materials and equipment rentals.
  • Schedule and coordinate set construction and teardown to align with the shoot calendar.
  • Ensure all sets are safe, clean, and organized.
  • Troubleshoot any on-set issues promptly to avoid delays.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in pre-production meetings to provide input against set feasibility and logistics.
  • Offer creative solutions and input to enhance set designs and overall visual appeal.
  • Conduct final inspections of set designs before shoot commencement to ensure they meet high standards of quality and creativity.
  • Will be travelling consistently, locally and internationally managing carnets.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years experience in a similar role required
  • A background in arts and culture preferred
  • 25 - 50% travel required

Note: Availability of these benefits and perks may be subject to work location & employment type and may have certain eligibility requirements.Salary Range: $120,800.00 - $151,000.00At J.Crew Group (JCG) we aim to pay competitively for our company's size and industry. The base salary offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region of work premises, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
