  • Responsible for the supporting development and maintenance of new equipment
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work within principles of the Colleague Guide
  • Support development and introduction of new, automated assembly equipment
  • Support vendors during startup and debugging phase
  • Support implementation and start up of new equipment
  • Train maintenance and production colleagues
  • Maintain and troubleshoots any controller system and automated equipment
  • Execute changes to programs and improves robot and controller programs
  • Build/program in-house fixtures as required
  • Develop/support preventative maintenance system for current and future equipment
  • Support fixture design/improvement
  • Follow TS 16949 & ISO 14001 procedures
  • Lock out/tag out machinery when necessary
  • Report accidents and damaged equipment immediately to a supervisor
  • Look for continuous improvement ideas through AIT/REAP
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Support Six Sigma initiatives
  • Must be able to work up to 7 days if necessary
Authority
  • Shut down any equipment that may be malfunctioning or causing a safety problem
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
  • High School diploma/GED Equivalent
  • Two years experience as a Programmer and Electrical Designer of automated machinery
  • Vast knowledge of Allen Bradley SLC500 controller
  • Experience in robot programming (ABB preferred)
  • Knowledge in pneumatic logics and mechanics preferred
  • Minimum two years experience supporting production line environment inclusive of machines, pneumatic tools and assembly fixtures
  • Knowledge of MIOSHA and UL requirements
  • Maintain ongoing education regarding new technology
  • Ability to comply with company policies and procedures
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to lift and carry weights greater than 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long hours
  • Excellent attendance required
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Work generally performed in an office and manufacturing environment and requires strict adherence to safety policies and procedures
