About ThedaCare! Summary : The Communications Dispatch Specialist is involved in all aspects of ThedaCare staff and visitor's safety. Our Communication Dispatch Center is a fast-paced dynamic team where success is defined by collaborating with team members, the community and leadership. The Communications Dispatch Specialist provides centralized information and communication support for ThedaCare by activating emergency and disaster alerts, triaging and routing internal/external calls for ThedaCare Hospitals and System Security, monitoring system-wide cameras, secured doors and alarms. Job Description: KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Answers internal 444 emergency calls, notifying appropriate medical staff, security, police, fire, emergency units and etc.
  • Answers internal/external non-emergent calls, providing information to the caller and/or triages to the appropriate department.
  • Monitoring alarms for Security and building safety, notifying appropriate medical staff, security, police, fire, emergency units and etc.
  • Reports necessary maintenance and operational needs to appropriate personnel, following department guidelines and escalating when needed.
  • Maintains and updates records and reports, as well as retrieving and analyzing data to provide to staff and leaders.
  • The ability to operate all Communication Dispatch Center software and equipment.
  • Maintains radio contact with System Security, Facilities Management and ThedaStar Dispatch.
  • Appropriately monitors system cameras for the safety of security, staff and visitors.
  • Answers internal/external non-emergent calls, requesting to initiate contact with on-call Surgery Teams and departments.
  • Utilizing reporting software to initiate and complete dispatch logs for System Security Officers.
  • Regularly test various alarms and equipment to maintain its normal operation.
  • Trains new Communication Dispatch Specialist.
  • Provides internal customer service for staff and vendors with various request. (i.e. security access, keys, morgue, guest house)
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance, works overtime/extra hours as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or GED • Three years of dispatching or call center experience with multiple systems and prioritization PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance • Job classification is not exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Normally works in climate-controlled office environment • Frequent sitting with movement throughout office space • Use of computers throughout the work day • Frequent use of keyboard with repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and fingers Position requires compliance with department specific competencies. **Casual Nights 11p-7awith some weekend requirements as well** Scheduled Weekly Hours: 4Scheduled FTE: 0.1Location: ThedaCare Regional Medical Center - Neenah - Neenah,WisconsinOvertime Exempt: No
