VCA Cherry Bend Animal Hospital is looking to hire an experienced Pet Stylist / Groomer. Schedules are flexible and can be full or part time. We are looking for a fun, energetic stylist who loves what they do!Responsibilities:Provide bathing and grooming servicesBathe, brush, and trim pets' fur according to client preferences and breed standardsPerform nail trims, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing as neededAssess pets' skin and coat condition and recommend appropriate grooming treatmentsEnsure the safety and well-being of pets during the grooming processMaintain a clean and organized grooming areaQualifications:Previous experience working with animals in a professional setting, such as a veterinary clinic, pet care facility, or grooming salonKnowledge of different breeds and their specific grooming requirementsStrong customer service skills to interact with pet owners and understand their preferencesAbility to handle animals of all sizes and temperaments with care and patiencePhysical stamina to handle heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standingCertification or training in pet grooming is preferred but not requiredSkills:Pet care: Experience in providing basic care for pets, including feeding, bathing, and exercisingCustomer service: Ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and provide excellent customer serviceKennel: Familiarity with kennel operations, including cleaning and maintaining kennel areasHeavy lifting: Ability to lift heavy animals or equipment when necessaryDog training: Basic understanding of dog behavior and training techniquesPet grooming: Proficiency in various grooming techniques for different types of petsAnimal handling: Ability to safely handle animals during grooming proceduresExpected hours: 10 – 40 per weekBenefits:Employee discountFlexible scheduleReferral programSupplemental pay types:Commission payTipsWork Location: In personIf you are a current associate, you will need to apply through our internal career site.
