Description

NARP, as part of North American Rail Solutions (NARS), is seeking a highly experienced National Sales Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sales management as well establishing strong relationships and partnerships with clients, vendors, and team members across North America. Encompasses but not limited to the rail products for its primary customer segments, including Short Line and Regional Railroads, Contractors, Trackwork Manufacturers and Industrial Accounts, while managing the same activities for the dependent Sales Managers and Sales Representatives.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for directly calling on, selling to, and creating strategies to meet/exceed the USA annual operating and rolling strategic plans for all product lines.
  • Manages inventory, conducts spot checks and annual inventory counts, freight management and upkeep and their operational requirements.
  • Create a culture of success within the sales team to drive growth in the business and goal achievement.
  • Managing the activities of the Sales Managers and Sales Representatives to deliver profitable growth.
  • Hire and develop sales staff, providing training and mentoring of other members of the team.
  • Track current and future projects and customer's capital and maintenance plans to prepare the strategic direction of the division.
  • Oversee the bidding and quoting processes to the U.S. customer base.
  • Developing and executing key account strategies for customers with multiple offices in the U.S.
  • Managing the region's A/R, annual operating expenses, quotations and CRM reports.
  • Develop and manage reports regarding sales activity for the company's pipeline.
  • Ensuring that the company meets revenue targets.
  • Responsible for learning in-depth product knowledge.
  • Prepare, submit and manage travel, entertainment, expense reports, sales reports, inventory reports and other duties as assigned.
  • Know and track current and future projects with relevant preparation to support timely, correct and safe product receipts and deliveries.
  • Ability to travel within assigned area, up to 40%.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • RequirementsEducation:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Business-related disciplines, Required.
    Work Experience Required:
    • 5 years sales management experience.
    • Previous work experience selling and managing inventory of rail related products & equipment.
    • Ability to manage multi-site sales team (more than 5 team members).
    Skills & Knowledge Required:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with others.
    • Ability to work in fluid environments, highly flexible and able to set/adjust priorities with market needs.
    • Excellent planning and time management abilities.
    • Self-motivated, able to maintain schedules and execute on sales activities with minimal supervision day-to-day.
